Mayo Evens Cross Country

The Mayo Athletics Cross Country Even aged (U10, 12,14,16,18)Championships takes place next Sunday 22nd September in Geesala starting at 11am.

We encourage everyone to go, experience it and have fun. Athletes run in their age category but they can also run 1 Yr up if they want e.g 2015 born can run U10 at the even age on 22nd Sept and U11 at the uneven age on 6th Oct. Those born 2016 can run U10

Athletes can wear spikes or football boots but runners will be fine if you don't have either.

Registration will be on the day 

Athletes MUST compete in county event to be eligible to enter Connaught.

The Mayo County Even Ages Cross Country competition will be held on Sunday 22ndSeptember in Doolough, Geesala Co. Mayo Eircode F26K206 at 11am hosted by Erris AC.

• Registration Tent: Registration will be in a tent in the middle field.

€8 per athlete, €15 for 2, €20 for three or more.

Can you have correct money with you on the day.

Please BRING PINS for your numbers.

• Parking: There is no parking on the road. Parking only in the field. Follow official’s instructions in relation to parking. There is no parking fee. 

• Toilets: Port-a-loos are available on site.

• First Aid: Order of Malta will be present on the Day.

• Running order: 11am          U8s Girls & Boys (2 races) ​   800m approx

                    ​                            U14s Girls and Boys (2 races)   3000m

                                                 U16s Girls & Boys (1 race)         4000m

First race the U8s start at 11 am all races to follow after. We may rearrange races depending on numbers on the day.  

• Club tents are allowed on the day. Please dress for the weather ie Umbrellas, rain gear& Sun cream.

• Running Spikes are allowed.

• There will be a food trailer with refreshments. It will have hot food, tea and coffee. Please bring cash as reception for card machines is not always guaranteed.

Leave no trace please bring all rubbish home with you please.

• Just a reminder all Juvenile athletes must compete in the Mayo County Evens Cross Country Championship to be eligible to run in the Connaught Cross Country. Any exemptions will have to be requested to the County Secretary by 6pm on the Friday before the competition. There will be no exemptions without very good reason. All athletes who compete will be eligible to run in the Connaught Cross Country Championship.
