PARKING

Please see Map attached - there are 600 free carparking spaces on Campus. The areas for free parking on Campus are - the student carpark, the 2 staff carparks, the carpark at the rear of the Engineering building and there are also some space across from the entrance into the underground carpark along the footpath. The Pay and Display areas are in the underground carpark and around the Multi-Purpose Hall that is across from the Arena. There are also some designated carpooling spaces located around the MPH that you will not be clamped for parking in during the weekend. Anyone who illegally parks i.e. on double yellow lines or doesn’t pay for parking in the underground carpark or around the MPH are running the risk of getting clamped.

LONG JUMPS

Long Jump takeoff is from the white board or before for u11s. For u9s and u10s take off is from the large square area of track between the sand-pit and the board. Jumps are measured from the athlete's toe-imprint left in that sanded area. All athletes should ideally check in knowing that as well as their runway mark if they have one. All athletes without a runway mark will be allocated a generic starting point on the runway. All Long Jumpers will have 3 measured jumps.

Mar 7, 2026

We wish the best of luck to our new athletes, a lot of whom are competing for the first time! Remember to wrap up warm. It's often a good idea to wear a long sleeve top under the singlet because the kids may be standing for a few minutes before their race starts.

Mayo Athletics Awards

Jan 27, 2026

Congratulations to Bella and Eugene on their awards at the recent Mayo Athletics Awards. These awards celebrate the achievements of Mayo athletes in the last year, anyone who has medalled at a National Event is invited to attend. This year 124 Awards and 51 Certificates were presented to all athletes who won national and international medals in 2025, from under 11 up to masters.

Isabella went from strength to strength in 2025. After an early season win at the Templemore Throws festival, Isabella broke the Connaught U16 Hammer record, her second record in a row. She proceeded to win Silver in both the Schools All-Ireland and the AI All-Irelands in Tullamore.

Constantly getting stronger as the season progressed, Isabella won the Hammer throw at the Tailteann Interprovincial Games, holding her nerve to win the competition on her last throw.

This win led to the highlight of her year - qualifying to represent Ireland at the Schools International Track and Field Championships in Derby where she threw a new personal best of over 50 metres. All the more impressive as she is underage for this competition again next year. Isabella is an inspiration to the younger athletes at the club and shows what hard work and dedication can achieve.
