Information and timetable for Mayo Outdoors Day 1 (U9-U12)

May 15, 2026

This is a selection of the information from the handbook for tomorrow's competition in Claremorris, and the timetable of events is at the bottom of this post.

Good luck to everyone competing, and remember to have fun!

Athlete Numbers

All athletes must wear their competition number securely on the front of their top using four pins. Please bring your own safety pins. Please ensure sibling numbers are not mixed up before competition begins.

Relay Events

In relay races, the 4th runner must wear the relay number and not their individual number. Please ensure this is done correctly.

Track Access

Athletes will only be allowed onto the track once their event has been called for assembly.

Field Events

Athletes competing in field events may only enter the competition area once their event has officially been called.

Indoor Area Access

The main indoor area is only available for High Jump participants and officials.

Club Photos

Group photos will be taken at 9:40am. Clubs are asked to take responsibility for gathering their athletes for club photos as these may feature in the local papers. Photos will be taken at the top of the track entry through the large gate. Please send photos onto Marion as soon as they have been taken.

Car Access & Parking

Entry to the venue is via the second gate on the left (not the first gate) as part of the one-way traffic system. All vehicle exits must be via the CBE gate. Please follow the instructions of parking stewards, as parking is not permitted in certain areas around the track. There is strictly no parking at the front of the building. These spaces are reserved for gym members and have not been allocated for use by the event, even for early arrivals.

Spectator Guidelines

Parents may collect children from the exit gate after their event. All accompanying adults must remain outside the barriers at all times. Parents are asked to supervise children carefully — no football/soccer is permitted in the car park area.

Facilities

Indoor toilets will be available on site.

Refreshments

Officials’ refreshments will be served inside the building. A food truck will also be present on the day.

Results

Live results will be available at: https://connaughtathletics.com/2026/mayooutday1/competition.php

Track Spikes

Athletes may wear spikes no longer than 5mm on the track.

Respect for Officials

Please respect all officials and volunteers who are giving up their time to help run the event. Their efforts are essential in making the day enjoyable and successful for everyone.
